PBA Legends Down Under 2009

De La Salle Alumni Australia - 33

Ateneo Alumni Australia - 14

This time around, we didn't, or should I say - couldn't - prepare well for the rematch.  Injuries and other personal and business commitments, it was impossible to get everyone to turn up for practice. With only 3 weeks to prepare, including a practice game for 4 of the players the night before the main event, we could smell trouble brewing for us.

We also knew how hungry for a revenge Team Ateneo was.

June 20, 2009, Saturday, 6:30 PM.  The time has come once more.

But we were committed more than ever.  Knowing that we've under-prepared for this big game, we promised ourselves that we'll perform to our outmost best --- just like any La Sallian would.

Late additions Vergel Alcantara and Andrew "Abs" Abei (La Salle Kingsgrove) helped our cause.

In the locker room, we devised a very simple plan:  play hard, play smart and have fun: ANIMO!

It was such a blessing to see that everyone contributed --- and contributed very well.  It was such a great team effort.

Once again, with God's help, it was a great victory.
